Massage Therapist, Esthetician
I am dedicated to remaining current on massage techniques and advancements in my field, attending numerous professional development courses and seminars each year. This spring, I’ll be studying Reflexology; I’ll be excited to add that service to the Ethos of Annapolis menu.
Skincare is another passion of mine. I am a graduate of the Chesapeake School of Esthetics. My approach to skincare is holistic; I tailor your skincare needs with customized treatments and home care tips.
If you nod-off during your sleep-inducing facial or massage, don’t fret. It happens all the time! In fact, that level of deep relaxation is one of the main reasons my clients return again and again to Ethos of Annapolis.
Rachel graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Anne Arundel Community College in 2012. Her yoga training included in-depth study of energy healing while receiving the Reiki Master Level attunement.
Massage Therapist, Yoga Teacher
Studying the Egoscue Method, Alexander Technique, Yoga, Pilates, work by Bret Contreras, Stuart McGill, and many more, has helped Rachel identify common misalignments and patterns in the body which contribute to chronic pain. By addressing these imbalances during a session as well as educating clients and providing comprehensive at-home practices, the benefits of a bodywork session are greatly enhanced.
A 2013 graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, Rachel incorporates tools and techniques as a Holistic Health Coach to support clients in feeling their best through food and lifestyle changes. Rachel’s passion for health and wellness led her to discover the many uses of essential oils. She studied aromatherapy with ISHA and Aromahead and has been creating custom blends since 2008.
In her bodywork sessions, Rachel incorporates a therapeutic approach through trigger point therapy, myofascial release, stretching and compression techniques, Swedish and deep tissue massage, MediCupping, Strain-Counterstrain, CranioSacral Therapy, and Reiki with an awareness of the subtle energetic experience to promote deep relaxation and repair.
“My greatest intention for my clients is to listen to the whole person and respond from a place of deep understanding, compassion and connection. Through energy work, yoga and massage, I have developed a deeper understanding and awareness of my body, mind, and spirit which helped me grow and heal. My goal in a bodywork session is to help my client find this same healing awareness through a holistic approach.”
